Sarah Vivian will be running the next Carers Support Programme at St John Ambulance, Midvale Road. It starts on Tuesday May 14th, 10 am until 1pm with an optional sandwich lunch. This course is for family members or friends caring for someone in the community, we also welcome people from the voluntary sector and professionals that may be recommending carers to attend in the future. This has previously been very helpful.
The course consists of 4 Tuesday sessions starting from May 14th
Some Topics covered:
Session 1 – Useful information on the difficulties carers may have , resources and services available on island , nutrition , pressure area care etc.
Session 2 – Dementia Jersey , safety in the home and equipment that may be helpful
Session 3 – Social security presentation on Long term care, carers benefits and other related benefits . Social worker assessments
Session 4 – First Aid Training
